just to make sure thin client is not ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.ģ. launch another steam copy of EA games, I had mass effect legendary. launch it once to make sure it's playable (this should install origin thin client)Ģ. once repaired, uninstall origin copy of the sims 4 to remove windows trace of this game.ġ. if you have origin original client, try repair the sims 4 choosing currently installed game.Ĥ. (might not be possible if you have a lot of ea games and want to avoid ♥♥♥♥ ups)ģ. uninstall ea desktop if you installed it. uninstall steam copy of the sims 4 if you installed itĢ. User settings under my document I didn't touch as it is the same for both version of the game (modding, tray etc).ġ. I had to uninstall everything first to start fresh so windows doesn't have weird application confusion in registry. (EA doesn't sync Steam what dlc you have so steam will still show no dlc purchased on steam store page)Īs it turns out it is actually simple once you know what you are doing. Finally it's given away again, but this time for free to play, so I can finally test out how EA does it in its weird way. This is what I did to get my origin dlcs installed for the free steam version today. Mainly doing this so i can use steam controller config as ea desktop forces you to launch ea app then game unlike before is simply launch the sims 4 exe
